UAE AI Search Landscape
The UAE has one of the highest rates of AI assistant adoption globally. Dubai's tech-forward business culture means professionals are using ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews as standard research tools. Being present in these answers is no longer optional for brands serious about digital authority.
In my testing and client work, UAE-market queries return AI answers with significantly higher frequency than global averages for professional services, real estate, finance, and technology sectors.
From Invisible to Cited
A management consulting firm I worked with was completely absent from AI answers for their target queries when we started. Their website ranked on page two or three for relevant terms, but AI systems were not citing them.
The strategy involved three changes: restructuring their service pages to make direct, attributable claims ("We have completed 40+ digital transformation projects in MENA"), implementing Person and Organisation schema markup, and getting them cited in two major UAE business publications. Within five months, they appeared in Perplexity answers for their target queries and began receiving inbound enquiries attributing the discovery to AI search.
Measuring AI Visibility Systematically
I have built a monitoring system for tracking AI visibility: a set of 20 to 50 target queries per client that we test monthly across the major AI platforms. Each test is documented with screenshots showing whether the client is cited, how prominently, and in what context.
This systematic approach reveals which queries have been won, which are contested, and which represent new opportunities. It also catches when AI systems stop citing a client, which can happen after algorithm updates or when stronger competitors are indexed.
