AI SEO
How does a consultant or founder get recommended by AI?
By Lopty Pascal · Last reviewed
By being a clearly identifiable person with a stated specialism, a consistent description across the web, published thinking under their own name, and other people citing them. An assistant recommends an individual when it can answer three things confidently: who this is, what they are known for, and who else says so.
This site is my own worked example. Everything on it follows the method below.
Decide what you want to be known for
One sentence, three topics at most. Mine is: digital marketing expert in Dubai, specialising in AI SEO and GEO, co-founder and builder of Prezlo. Every page and profile repeats it. A person described as ten different things is remembered for none.
Build the identity layer
- A personal site with an about page: name, role, location, real story, real photo.
- The same name, title and bio on LinkedIn and every other profile.
- Person markup with sameAs links to those profiles.
- Old profiles that tie your name to other topics corrected or closed.
Publish under your own name
- Pages that answer the questions your buyers ask, written from experience.
- An author line and date on each.
- Opinions marked as opinions and facts given sources.
- Comments and posts where your peers discuss the subject.
Earn the third-party layer
This is what moves a person from "has a website" to "is cited". For me, it happened around Google Search Central Live Toronto. I shared my analysis of where search strategy is heading, and JC Chouinard used it as a reference in his write-up of the event. Xpert.Digital then referenced it in its own analysis. Neither was a pitch. Established industry publications use a practitioner’s thinking to explain an important shift only when they judge it worth their readers’ attention. That is the pattern to repeat: contribute something quotable where the conversation is happening.
What to avoid
Self-awarded titles, invented rankings and "as featured in" logos that cannot be checked. They are easy for a reader or a model to test, and one failed check undermines the rest.
What this will not do
- It will not make you known for expertise you do not have.
- It will not work without your real name and face. Anonymous experts are not recommended.
- It takes sustained publishing. One month of activity is not enough.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a personal website if I have LinkedIn?
- Yes. A site you control is the reference point that ties your profiles together and can carry structured data.
- Should my personal brand be separate from my company?
- They should be linked. State clearly on both that you founded or work at the company.
- Does posting on LinkedIn help with AI recommendations?
- Indirectly. It builds the recognition and third-party mentions that assistants draw on. Specific, quotable contributions do more than frequent ones.
